Recently I pulled out the registration of my favorite gelding Scotch On the Rocks.  I had often said he was "one in a million" as he had such a good Morgan nature, and we were able to do just about everything together.  It came as no surprise that there are no less than five connections to Upwey Ben Don on his papers.

It’s hard to put into words the impact that the Davis family and their Wind-Crest Morgans had on the horses of today.

In May, I was honored to visit with Patty Davis Ferguson, daughter of Ted Davis and the last caretaker of the Wind-Crest name.  With a twinkle in her eye and scrapbooks filled with photos, she shared with me the wonderful tale of a family that for the love of a horse made a contribution benefiting people across the country.

Over the next three months, I’ll do my best to share the story of her family, and I encourage you, the reader, to send along to me any contributions that you’d like to make, and we’ll include them at the end of our web profile.

So, now, jump in and let's go back into the past.  Currently we've posted:

Part I.  The Beginning (1898 – 1946)

Part II. A focus on Upwey Ben Don

Part III.  Ted Davis and promoting our Morgans
